Low Cost Options       Top of Page

By default, prints are configured with frames and mats that enhance the image and premium clear glass that provides limited UV protection. There are choices you can make to significantly reduce the cost. If you are looking for a way to reduce costs, here are some tips.

Premium clear glass: This is "regular" glass and offers no significant protection from ultraviolet rays, but does still seal the print against the elements reducing but not eliminating the archival value of the framing.

No glass: This reduces your cost but also leaves the print very vulnerable to damage. Consider getting either the premium clear glass or having the print laminated for protection.

Metal Frame: The metal frames offered are high quality and are less expensive than the hard wood frames. The choice of a lower cost frame does not affect the archival quality of the framing.

No Frame: No frame reduces your cost but also leaves the print very vulnerable to damage. Consider getting the print laminated for protection.

No Mat: The price goes up significantly when a mat is added, because adding a mat also means adding mount board. The lowest cost option is to get a print only. However, note that a print without mat, frame, or glass protection may have a limited lifetime.
